Stay at home mom

The days are long, but the years are short.. Lucas will be one next month! Seriously feeling so blessed and thankful to my husband for "bringing home the bacon". It's not an easy thing in today's world to live off of one income. We are making it work and I've been able to be home with both Emily and Lucas.

I remember a few years ago, it was the Summer I met Jose and we started dating, I had no work for the Summer. I thought is was the best Summer of my life. I had enough money saved up to where I was able to have fun and not be dying to get back to work.

I started my working journey when I was 14 years old. My grandmother helped me get a job at our most popular food shopping store, Market Basket. I worked there for many years, then working in daycare, and finally as a nanny. At one point, I had two jobs. I worked in a daycare from 7-3, rush home, shower and eat, then work at Market Basket from 5-10. So this whole not working thing was new to me. I sure did enjoy it, and like I said, I thought it was the best Summer of my life. Being able to enjoy the nice weather and not having to rush off to work in the mornings. Staying up late on those Summer nights without worrying about waking up early the next day.

Boy did I not know I'd have a better Summer. Seeing my baby visit new places and experience all new things to him, has been simply amazing. He's such a little explorer. I love seeing the world through his eyes. Every time I think about it and remember that a lot of the things and places we are going are new to him, I get really excited for him.

With all of that said, my husband would love to be in my shoes. I know it. If you know Jose, you know how much he loves his kids and how much he is ALL about them. He doesn't get to stay home with them, or drop off Emily at school (once in a while he does, but not on a regular basis). So to my husband, thank you for working so hard for us.

Some may say, "well, he has to", or "he's the man of the family" etc. but I think I am so lucky to have a dedicated and responsible husband and father for our kids.

We love you Jose.

On another note, have you seen our new vlog? It's a week in the life! We were super busy the whole week and getting ready for our road trip! Watch and let us know what you think!

  1. Such a sweet post! Enjoy every second at home with those precious little ones! I'm counting down the days until we're in a place where I can do the same <3
