Facing Your Fears

Wednesday, May 25, 2016

With baby coming I have been looking into different working posibilities. I have so many options, that's the best part of the whole scenario.

Just picture this: I'm a full time nanny, I take care of two wonderful boys. They were 3 months old when I started with the nanny share, they are now 22 months old. I work pretty long hours usually, but have Friday's off.

I love my work so much it rarely feels like work. Of course there's aways the waking up part and getting home pretty late part. However, the in between isn't bad, it's fun. We venture into the city as often as we can and visit music, story and development classes too. There's always the hugs, kisses and seeing the kids learn and grow part too!

I have always loved working, never saw myself as a stay at home mom. Of course now with baby getting so close to being here I picture the best option which would be to find a nice one baby family who would let me bring my baby with me.

I'd still make money, feel good about doing something and take care of my own baby. Win win.

What if there was something else I could do that I loved just as much. There is!! Today, I am facing that little fear of just doing something I've wanted to do for a while but wasn't sure how to get started.

Before becoming a nanny (which I've done for about 6 years now), I was a teacher in a daycare setting for about 5 years. I taught Infant-Kindergarten classes (my favorite was kindergarten).

I'm used to teaching kids, but very rarely did I have to teach infront of the kids parents, and when I did I was always a hot red faced mess. Haha!

Today, I'll be in the spotlight for a very short few seconds, but it's nerve wracking for me. Maybe because I know most of the families, or maybe because I'll be teaching something different?

That's right, I'll be teaching but something completely different than what I taught in daycare-music, songs, sign language... A little of everything.

Wish me luck, today, I'm hoping will be the beginning of something new and exciting for both myself and my family. I'm excited to share more once things get started after the Summer.

What are some fears you're facing today or have faced recently? Happy Wednesday!
