Our Save The Dates

Wednesday, November 4, 2015

When we decided it was time to get some save the dates printed we still had no idea what we wanted the colors for the wedding to be. The only thing we had was our venue. Jose was pretty upfront early on and let me know he really had no opinion on the colors. Every color combination I suggested, he liked. I'm pretty sure all he wanted was to make sure it wasn't too girly. Which was fine because I didn't want that either.

I looked around on several different sites and quickly saw how expensive both the save the dates and the actual invites would be. We also quickly realized that the save the dates were not super important for us as far as cost and look went. We really just wanted to have something we could send out to our family that would be traveling for the wedding. We ended up personalizing our cards on PersonalizationMall.com

I used ebates to get cash back from my order, which was a great advantage from using this site. I ordered 48 of them at $1.14 each which totaled out to be $54.95 +envelopes (I don't recall how much I paid for those).

It was super easy. We chose the photo we wanted, the photo was from a family beach photo shoot we had done over the Summer and really loved this particular shot. Since we were not sure on the colors of the wedding yet, this card was perfect, it's a matte front finish (which Jose really loves) and on the back it's black with our names on it. Simple, quick and pretty.

What I didn't know about this order was that it didn't come with envelopes. I didn't even think about it. When they came in the mail I was so surprised I couldn't believe it. I ended up stopping at Staples and getting some plain ivory envelopes. I hand wrote the address on all of the save the dates.

How pretty is that necklace I'm wearing in the shot!? It's from a wonderful shop I found on Instagram. Sandy lives in Boston and has super awesome jewelry! I ordered my Maid of Honor her studs from her as well, which I'll show in the future.

Let me know what else you'd like to see in future Wedding Wednesday posts!
