5 Things for Thanksgiving

Friday, November 13, 2015

I know everyone is super excited about Christmas, and I am too, believe me I am. I'm just still very into Thanksgiving. I was thinking very hard this week and wanted to make Thanksgiving a little more special than years past. There is so much to do for Christmas, I want to make Thanksgiving at our home special too. Here are my 5 favorite ideas I found  for this Thanksgiving:

Ok, so the ideas have to be child friendly because our little Emily loves to take part in the fun stuff. Just as they have to be child friendly, I still want it to be fun for the adults too.

1. The I'm Thankful from A to Z sheet will be fabulous for really getting people to think about certain things they are thankful for and not the basic, family, food and shelter (although we are thankful for those of course). From A to Z, what are you thankful for?

2. The Thankful Rolls would be a great hit at our home.

3. Thanksgiving decor for me consists of pumpkins, and other Fall inspired things. I just can't imagine decorating with turkeys. I love the look of the white pumpkins with the letters printed on each one of them to spell out Thanks. The best part about this is you can spell out anything. A great idea for newlyweds is to spell out your last name. That will look super pretty.

4. The Turkey Ticket is something I learned about just yesterday. I'm thinking of doing it a tiny bit differently and instead of using 6ft of paper, use a bit of a smaller length. The gist is to write down the you are thankful for. Sounds easy right! Well, you have so much space, you'll soon start really thinking hard for the little things you are thankful for.

5. Lastly, I think Emily would absolutely love the Gratitude Scavenger Hunt. The point is to find things you are thankful for depending on what the hunt lists. For example: something in nature, for me would be flowers.

What are some things/traditions you do in your home for Thanksgiving?

  6. I'm super excited for Christmas too, but am concentrating on Thanksgiving first. I still have my fall decor up, and am excited to have a day where we can enjoy good food and reflect on what we're thankful for. And yessss to white pumpkins - just so pretty and the perfect decor <3
