$20 At The Drugstore

Friday, October 30, 2015

Happy Friday! See anything different? I purchased a new template and am in the process of getting things back in order. What do you think? I looked up how to add my Instagram feed at the footer and I did it. That's crazy to me because I'm not much of a good blogger behind the scenes gal.

Favorite Fall Things

Thursday, October 29, 2015

Happy Thursday! It's Friday for me! I'm so glad the weekend is here again!

I found Jenn through the Thoughts for Thursday link up and was so happy because she had an all about me post, Fall inspired. I thought I'd join in on the fun since I sure do love Fall very much. Sorry for the lack of photos.

29 Moments On My 29th Birthday

Wednesday, October 28, 2015

Well hello there 29! Being in my 20's never looked as good as my last year of my 20's. I saw Estee do this for her 25th birthday  and I thought I'd give it a try!

Falling For Boston...

Tuesday, October 27, 2015

Welcome to our link up, Falling For... I bring you, a little bit of Boston in the Fall. Located in the East, Boston is pretty chilly in the middle of Fall. Usually, at the beginning of the season it's still warm. Towards the middle of the season you can really get into the Fall activities. There is so much history in Boston, I feel like pictures will just never do it justice, but I tried.

Primark and Blogging Time-Weekending

Monday, October 26, 2015

The weekend came and went and there aren't many photos of any of the fun that went on. We did vlog and you can see that hereMy birthday is tomorrow so you could say it was my birthday weekend, and I'm also considering next weekend my birthday weekend as well! Ha! I'll take two birthday weekends!

Tomorrow, not only is it my birthday, but it is also our link up, more info here. Come back tomorrow and link up with us to share your city in the Fall! We'd love to see some photos and see Fall in different parts of the country.

On Friday I took some photos for the post and went to Primark for the first time. Let me just tell you, that store is overwhelming. As soon as I went in I was hit with so many cute styles of clothing and tons of people. I did purchase a few things but I definitely need to go back with more time and take a better look around. Let me just tell you it's 4 floors of pure goodness!

If you've been following for a while you know, my god daughter, Arianna (my brother's daughter, so she's also my niece) was born 3 years ago on my birthday. We share a birthday but you could basically consider it hers now since I've celebrated my share of birthdays. Anywho, since it falls on a Tuesday this year we celebrated my niece/goddaughter on Saturday evening! She had a My Little Pony party

Sunday was the most relaxing and lazy day ever. We watched The Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which we have watched many times before and still love very much. Of course we also watched the Pats game. It was a rainy day in and it was pretty fabulous. Lazy days call for lots of blog schedule time.

How was your weekend? Are you linking up with us tomorrow?

On Friday I posted about my favorite bloggers I like to link up with every week, today I'm linking up with Biana

Link Ups

Friday, October 23, 2015

A while back Katie wrote about some of the link ups she liked, and it was so helpful because I found some of my now very favorite blogs to link up with.

Today, I thought I'd share the link ups I try to link up with every week and share my favorite things for the week. The rules of joining link ups are fairly easy, link your blogpost to their link up, be sure to mention them in your post and mingle with other bloggers who have linked up. It's also a good idea to follow the bloggers you are linking up with (I'm not an expert at link ups). There are some random link ups from time to time, Elle is having her next link up in November. I missed it this time around but I have marked my calendar to join next month! Macy (who already has the Wednesday link up) Meg and myself are having one on Tuesday, the 27th. We're sharing photos of our city in the Fall! Like a big spotlight on your city and the beauties of Fall! Can't wait! We're calling it Falling For.. Mine will be Falling For Boston.

On to my favorite link ups:

You basically recap your weekend with photos or just with text, or both. Biana responds to my comments every single time and she reads my post every single time! She's amazing!

Don't have one currently, I saw some food related link ups but I rarely post about food, speaking of food... I'm hungry. Know of any linkups that are not food related?

Wedding Wednesday with Macy and Nikki.
It's been a while since I've linked up for a Wedding Wednesday post but I have these two in mind for when I do have a blog post, I link up with them!

Thoughts for Thursday's with Annie and Natalie.
Write about anything, love these ladies too! Thursday's for me feels very free because literally, I can write about anything bad link up with these ladies. I love mingling with the other bloggers who link up too!

Friday Favorites with Amanda
This one is new! I was linking up with another blogger but I like the sound of being able to share my favorites for the week!

Surprise, surprise I'm linking up with Amanda today!

Who do you love linking up with?
Let me know in the comments section below! Happy Friday!!

Falling For... (LinkUp)

Thursday, October 22, 2015

I'm so excited to finally post today because Meg and Macy put this fabulous button together for our link up on Tuesday the 27th of October! I mean seriously how perfect is the button? I had already posted about the link up, here, but we had no button yet. Now things feel all that more official, ha! Can't wait to see your cities in the fall, be sure to save the date so you could link up with us and we can all be friends!

Button by Macy and Meg.

Let me know, will you be linking up?

How I Am Downsizing My Makeup

Wednesday, October 21, 2015

Let's be honest, even though others have more than me, I have way too much makeup for me, there I said it. I won't ever finish up the makeup I own. Because of the blogging that I love to do I'm always looking at what's new at the drugstore or researching higher end makeup to purchase. I've also accumulated tons of samples from subscription boxes like Ipsy and Birchbox.

It's still a work in progress, I still have two drawers full of face products. Today, I went through some of my makeup and thought of these 5 questions as I held each product in my hand, then decided what to do with it. I already wrote a little about it here

1. How old is the product?
Everything has an expiration date, how old is this? When did I purchase it? How long should I use it for? Does it need to be thrown out? I'm not an expert so o had to look this up here

Mascara 3 months
Liquid Foundation/Concealer 6 months -1 year
Lipstick 2 years
Lipgloss 1 year
Powder Foundation/ Blush Eyeshadow 2 years
Nail Polish 2 years

2. When was the last time I used it?
I found a lot of products I hadn't used in a while, time to give to someone who will put it to good use, A.K.A Betsy!

3. Get over the "pretty packaging", do I still love the product?
Why do we do this? It's just packaging.. The packaging doesn't go on our face! Ha!

4. Am I keeping it just because it was expensive?
I am so guilty of this, again, someone else could put it to good use. Especially because it's expensive you'd want it to get used up.

5. Do I have a dupe? Which one do I love more?
It happens, you buy two or more of the same item, color or product in general. Keep one. Be strict about it.

Again, because I don't own as much makeup as other people here in he blogging world, these tips might work for some, while other tips may work for others... How have you tried to down size your stash? Leave me some tips in the comments section below!

Post includes a referral link to Ipsy.

Bloggers You Should Follow

Tuesday, October 20, 2015

Happy Tuesday friends! Since we are friends, I thought I would share some of my favorite bloggers to follow here in the blogging world. There are more but wanted to keep it to these first 5, and then if you're interested, I could do a second post with some more. I included links to my recent favorite post on their blogs...

These ladies all bring something different to the table and that's what I love. I really enjoy the variety in their posts. Go let them know I love them and then you can hang out and love them too!

In no particular order:

Katie, from Katie Elizabeth Blog
posted here to show off some fabulous pieces.. I really love reading her posts because she always takes the time to link things and if you happen to love something and want it she most definitely has a link or something similar!

Carly, at CarlyBlogsHere
shared this post on books, and boy does she inspire me to pick up a book... I've said this before but school takes up so much of my reading time.. I'm really looking forward to finishing that up and being able to look at some of her reviews on books and sitting down for hours to read like I used to a few years ago.

Hilari Williams, wife, nanny, blogger and brand manager
wrote this post sort of ending her goal or running a marathon.. I almost cried..

Kari, from Short Broke and Happy
titled a post Mad for Plaid and I couldn't click on it fast enough. Love me a good plaid outfit! She takes perfect outfit photos and looks so wonderful in every outfit. She's not afraid to try different combinations and I really like that.

Biana, at BLovedBoston
has a weekly link up on Mondays where everyone is welcomed to recap their weekend. I really enjoyed this post in particular because she's a fellow Bostonian and I really love seeing Boston (and surrounding areas) through her eyes.

What are some of your favorite recent blog posts? Leave them down below so I could go on and read them too!

Over The Weekend

Monday, October 19, 2015

Love Monday posts because I get to look back at the fun we had over the weekend, and who doesn't love to think of fun!

Linking up with Biana and Ashley

I'll start off with another fab outfit I'm loving! Looking at it right now is making me cold as it got super cold this Monday morning. However, this was perfect for Friday's temperature in Boston. I headed to the RMV on Friday morning to get a new license. Glad that's over. I did some minor shopping for house things, the waited for Jose to get home.

We had BWW that night, follow on snap chat for all of the fun- vero_var, then we headed into the city that night for some walking, we got a yummy coffee and did some unexpected shopping. See our vlog.

We carved our pumpkin, well, Jose and Emily carved the pumpkin and we baked the seeds. Again, by we I mean Jose! Emily also picked out her Halloween costume

My Ipsy bag came in, although I haven't felt super thrilled about a bag in a few months, I do like some of the products this month.

Let's talk about this scarf in Sunday's outfit.. Ahh! It's super comfy and thick enough to keep me warm, yet thin enough so it's not uncomfortable to wear.

Emily won a prize at the zoo for best howl and we celebrated Ada's, my cousin, birthday while watching some football and having delicious food.

On Sunday I also emailed back and forth with Meg and Macy, (two fabulous bloggers) about the link up coming up on Tuesday, October 27th (my birthday, ahhhhhhh). More details on that soon, so check back in!

How was your weekend? Let's chat!

5 Things I Learned This Week For Blogger

Friday, October 16, 2015

Five things I learned this week...

This week I learned how to add a signature with links to my email, thanks to Biana.

I learned how to add the pin me option to my photos on each post. Still not sure if you're supposed to be able to do it while on the phone as well, as it doesn't work.

I also learned I could change the fonts of the date and title of each of my posts without messing up the rest of the layout Kallie did for me.

This past week I learned how to add a link to the things I've purchased and I'm sharing with you. Katie wrote about getting some commission off of things she posts, pennies really, but still getting some extra change for linking through Shop Style. I thought it was nearly impossible to get done, but with the quick instructions, I got it done.

Lastly, this past week I learned how to have ebates on my PC recognize when I'm shopping at a store that gives cash back and gives me the option to transfer to shop through them.

Fall in Love

Thursday, October 15, 2015

I think this might be the 400th time I have mentioned that I love Fall on my blog, but I really do, and I mean, can you blame me? The crunchy leaves, chill in the air, fashion style and the fall activities that come with this time of year. Anyway, before I go off on a tangent...

Meg, Macy and I are teaming up to put our city during the Fall season in the spotlight.

I was looking around while on a walk the other day and everything just looked so beautiful. I thought it would be a great idea to see Fall through the eyes of other bloggers from all over the country. I think Boston looks absolutely stunning when its grounds are covered in the colors of Fall, I'd love to see your town during Fall.

Lets get together and show off our home. If you're interested email me at EverythingVero@gmail .com

We are posting on October 27th, in hopes that it's enough time to gather some beautiful photos and there will be a link up.

Hope everyone is enjoying Fall so far.

Wedding Photography

Wednesday, October 14, 2015

I've been wanting to share some of our wedding details but just wasn't sure where to start. A fellow blogger mentioned that I should just pick a topic, write about it, and then go from there.

Photography, go!

Interviewing photographers for the wedding was such a chore for us. As many engaged couples, we had no idea what we were doing during our interview process with any of the vendors. I first interviewed with a photographer who basically let me know how expensive photography would be. We didn't end up going with her, for a few reasons, but we did go with the DJ that she recommended.

We ended up going with Imagix, they are a married couple who work together out of East Boston. I simply can't even begin to explain how amazing they were. They were wonderful during our meeting, the day of the wedding and after the wedding. We could tell their passion for photography is intense.

Our wedding day was blessed with rain and I was so afraid we wouldn't be able to get any photos outdoors. Gloria and Arturo made it happen, and the photos look amazing. I've already shared a few but I thought maybe I would share two more of the outdoor photos.

My favorite "thing" about Imagix-Gloria and Arturo was their passion for making sure we had several shots to choose from. At the time all we wanted to do was actually be present during the wedding. Gloria asked us several times if she could take us away for a few minutes for more photos. When we were choosing photos for the album, I was remembering her taking us out and being grateful we had more to choose from. That is definitely something personal, I feel we got the best of both worlds, I really feel that we enjoyed our wedding, the party and all. I also feel that we got so many beautiful photos to choose from.

I don't want to post too many photos on this post, even though it is about the photography, because I am hoping to share the details, venue, flowers etc in the posts to follow with the actual photos.

Let me know what other wedding related posts you'd like to see!

Also, if you have any wedding posts, link them down below or send to me on my social media. I still love to see and read anything about weddings! I still have my Brides magazine subscription!

How To: Pinterest Pin Me Button

Tuesday, October 13, 2015

I love this Pin Me button made by my handsome husband.

I used this link to help me figure out the pin me button. It sounded so difficult when I was thinking of adding the buttons. I had questions... Will I have to add the button option to each of my photos, would it be something that automatically happens after adding maybe a widget. How much time will it take to do.  Well, now that its on my photos I am glad I went for it and did it.

I'm still not sure if you're supposed to be able to use the pin me buttons through the cellphone or not. I will continue to do some research, in the mean time... I am definitely not an expert at it, but I did want to share the link I used to get it done, in case you're looking to add the button as well! The post is by Greenlava on Blogger Sentral, here it is. Hope you find this helpful, let me know if you add the pin me option and I'll head over and pin away.

Do you have this installed on your blog? Are there advantages or disadvantages you have found from having it on your photos? Let me know in the comments section below!

Weekend Outfit, Being a Stepmom and Fall Activities

Monday, October 12, 2015

Weekend festivities are always so fun, and this weekend was an extra long one for us, for Emily and I anyway, Jose has to work today. It's Columbus Day, you know, Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492. When I taught kindergarten I taught my kids this poem around this time while we learned about Christopher Columbus. We won't get into any more History than this...

Moving on... Let's start by talking about my outfit on Friday, and this fabulous photo I found online about step moms.

Coat, Dress, Booties

I of course failed and didn't get a good photo of myself wearing it, but thought it was too pretty to not show you. I wore this Old Navy dress, these booties from Nordstrom and this trench coat from Coach  Jose gifted me during our Florida trip last year.

Ok, this photo, pretty powerful words, in my opinion. I'm not just a step mom. I've been thinking of devoting a post just on being a step mom. Would you guys like to read about that? Let me know if you would and if you have questions.

One of our favorite things about Fall is going to all of the Fall activities in the Boston area, and decorating our front lawn, see vlog here.  We have gone to the Topsfield Fair but lately it has just been too difficult to get there. The traffic is crazy and we have just decided to do other things. Over the weekend we went to a small Fall Fair at the South Boston library. They had face painting, snacks, water play, painting pumpkins activities, Apple print painting and spooky story telling by Big Joe. It was loads of fun and Emily loved going after her dance class. See our vlog here.

Finally, I love this last photo. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else than home with my loves. Emily asked for coloring pages so we looked online after she worked on her math work and printed out some pages for her and Jose to color.

How was your weekend? I'm linking up with Biana

New Fall Arrivals at Old Navy

Friday, October 9, 2015

Love me a good shopping spree from Old Navy.. They have so many basic pieces that are both comfortable and easy on the wallet. What's even better is that right now they are giving you 6% cash back if you purchase online through Ebates.

I went looking to see their new selections and if it wasn't because I recently purchased several pieces from a variety of different places including these from JCrew, Forever 21 and Nordstrom, these  are some of the pieces I would consider purchasing:

Cable-Knit Infinity Scarf

All photos are from the Old Navy New Arrivals selection.

Which piece is your favorite?
