SWIM INTO BEAUTY

Tuesday, June 30, 2015

I remember getting super excited about my Ipsy bag coming in the mail, lately, not so much. Not because I don't like it anymore, I do... It's just not new anymore. I've had it for a very long time now. I've been thinking of canceling and getting something different. I've tried Birchbox, but didn't like it so much. Let me know what subscription boxes you love in the comments section and if you have a referral code for me to use!

Very quickly, Ipsy is a $10/month beauty subscription service. You get 4-5 sample/deluxe size and/or full size products to try out for $10 a month. With those products you get a different makeup bag & there's a new theme every month.

This month's theme is Swim into Beauty, so I guess we are going swimming! Ha!

Here's what I got:

Formula X sample in Color Source
Befine Cucumber Facial Mask
Glamierre Makeup Brush
Trestique Mini Shadow Crayon in Marimoto Pink Pearl
Smashbox Photo Finish sample Primer

What did you get in your Ipsy? Leave me your blog links so I can see or let me know what other services are you subscribed to!

WHAT I'VE BEEN WEARING LATELY

Wednesday, June 24, 2015

It's been a while since I wrote about makeup, today, I wanted to share what I've been using since right after our wedding.

During our honeymoon (see our honeymoon playlist) we did a little shopping, I ended up purchasing the Dior Show Mascara along with a few other things and got this Burberry makeup bag in this beautiful red shade. The bag was free because we spent- a certain amount!

So here's what's in my makeup bag:

-Taste Eyelash Curler
-Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude
-Maybelline the Falsies Mascara in Very Black Waterproof
-Christian Dior DiorShow Mascara in 090
-NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Espresso
-Covergirl Clear Mascara
-Be a Bombshell shadow in Submissive
-Chanel Glossimier in 131
-Vaseline Lip Therapy in Rosy Lips

What's in your makeup bag?

5 APPS YOU NEED ON YOUR IPHONE

Tuesday, June 23, 2015

I got major inspiration from Katie for this post. Let's be honest, she's super fab and I wish I could be her. Go check her out and tell her I said hi! She posted about her favorite phone apps a while back and admitted to being addicted to her iPhone-aren't we all?

In support of Katie's iPhone obsession I decided to share my favorite apps at the moment...

Snapchat
I had a different account a while back but forgot the log in information and started a new one. I like it so much more now that my young and very cool cousin showed me how to use the filters on it! Let's follow each other! My username is Vero_Var

Runkeeper
Basically it's like Facebook for runners. I know what you're thinking, "You run?" Haha... I try. This app allows me to share my walks or runs with my friends and we can cheer each other on!

Walgreens
This app is the best! I can easily send my photos to my Walgreens account and have different folders. I can also print right from my phone or from the folders, I can also make cards! Fabulous for those times that I've forgotten a holiday or a celebration! Fast and easy!

Ebates
I'm sure you're sick of hearing about Ebates. Do you already use it? If you do, isn't it awesome? You're shopping online and you're getting cash back on the purchases you're making? Ohhhh, you don't already have Ebates? Here's a quick post I wrote a while ago about it. Sign up now using my link and we both win!

Lastly, I couldn't leave Instagram out! I recently switched my profile to private, but here is a look inside my insta! I post photos of my nails (#VeroSaysNails) pretty often, recently lots of photos from the wedding and leading up to the wedding! Follow me!

I love other apps too, I day I just wanted to share a quick five! What are your favorite apps?

ROLLER WORLD, CANOBIE LAKE & INSIDE OUT

Monday, June 22, 2015

It's officially Summer & I'm already looking forward for the end of Summer, with good reason- vacation of course. I've never been a fan of going on vacation while it's warm in Boston, however, this is what fit.

Let's back up to the weekend! It was a pretty busy one! On Friday we went to Roller World & shopped for Jose for Father's Day!

Saturday, Emily had gymnastics, one class left before she's done for the Summer. Right after we headed to Canobie Lake Park for the rest of the day! Jose and I played to win Emily the Share Bear.

On Sunday, we did last minute Father's Day crafts, we had our usual big Sunday breakfast, visited my grandparents and went to see the movie Inside Out! What a great movie with such a great message! We totally slacked and didn't get tickets ahead of time so we ended up waiting in this big ol' line.

How was your weekend? Anything new?

THE WEDDING PLANNING IS OVER

Wednesday, June 10, 2015

Woah, that went by fast. The wedding planning, the honeymoon... It's over & everyone was right, it went by so fast. This week is my first full week back to work after being off for last minute preparations for the wedding and the honeymoon.

Today, I just wanted to come and say hi, it's been a while since I've linked up. I want to share some photos of certain things but I don't have a "system" set in place for "how" to do it. I'll think of something I'm sure. If you have an idea on how to post, maybe by theme or events, let me know in the comments section.

A quick note about my wedding experience as a whole:

It was beautiful, the rain, the 5:40am hotel fire alarm wake up, the indoor ceremony, our vows to each other, my vows to Emily, seeing Jose waiting for me, the dress, the shoes, the details, the party, dancing with Jose, our first dance, the song selection for important events, the photography, the royal treatment from our venue! Oh my. Everything was just perfect. I love how intimate the reception was, we were able to talk to everyone and go around tables more than once.

The honeymoon was short but sweet, we vlogged most of it, go check them out on our vlog channel FiveMinutesandUs

The most important part of this wedding that we planned together is the life we will be living now, as husband and wife.

I'M A WIFE!

Monday, June 8, 2015

How does one go back to "normal living" after getting married and going on a honeymoon?

We got married on Sunday, May 31, 2015 and left for a very short but fun honeymoon the next day! We were back on Thursday really late. Before the wedding we had the rehearsal dinner and my family was in town so I took a few days off. I'm sure I'll post pictures of the wedding and the honeymoon but today, this is a weekend recap of this past weekend (a week after the wedding).

However, what kind of person would I be if I didn't put one photo up for you to see.... There are more on Instagram. Use #VJPeñaWedding to see more or go to my profile, EverythingVero.

We obviously did not vlog the wedding, but we did vlog bits and pieces of the honeymoon! You can watch our vlogs here

We heard that tradition says you save your top tier of the wedding cake for your first anniversary. We waited 6 days and ate it!

Part of our ceremony included me giving Emily a ring and letting her know what I promised her, she loves her ring and I'm impressed with how much she takes care of it.

Trader Joes coffee. Enough said.

My pretty girl all sporty for a day of fun with the family. We had lots of BBQ, some fire fun and lots of good stories!

This morning I am starting off my first day back to work after two weeks off with coffee and leftover cookies from our hotel  (honeymoon).

Happy Monday! Excuse me as I sit and remember how much fun we were having this time last week!
