THE WINTER CAME AND I QUIT

Wednesday, January 21, 2015

I ran my first race last Summer at the Gillette Stadium. We finished at the 50.

It was a really cool experience, I went on to run another 5K-Boston Wounded Veterans Race.

We ran every Thursday with a group of friends at Deer Island.

We also ran often throughout the week just Jose and I.

Then the Winter came and I quit.

It's cold, it's dark, and I lack motivation. A few days ago, I saw a post, "Summer bodies are made in the Winter".With our wedding  and Summer coming up I realized this was completely true! I need to get back into exercising. So, I cut on my junk food intake, and started to drink more water. For me, it's easier to exercise when my eating habits are better. Now it's been a week since I have been more careful of what I eat, without neglecting myself of a super good dinner out on the weekend.

When it's nice out, we walk often, even to get my coffee a few blocks down the street. Who wants to walk in the cold, and I mean, it gets super cold here in Boston. I get a snap chat almost daily of a friend who ran with us last Summer, it's always him going to the gym. Agh! Wish I had THAT MOTIVATION. I get out of work so late, the last thing I want to do is go to the gym, but enough excuses, I can work out at home.

This is me putting myself out there to exercise, ask me in a week how it's going !!

What are your eating habits like this Winter? Are you a runner? Let me know in the comments section below...

  1. You ran so many races last year! It's so hard to find motivation in the winter- especially when it's so cold and gets dark so early :( I've been trying to eat better lately too- because I think the two do go hand in hand.

  2. I'm right there with you!! I get sooo lazy in the winter. Thank goodness for the dog this year and him holding me accountable for at least one walk a day!

  3. Oh girl, don't feel bad. I never exercise outside during the winter! I find those people running in the bitter cold with their reflective gear on to be partially insane. Plus, I'm not trying to get sick. Just focus on the diet and do some at home exercises so you're in a better position once spring comes and you're more motivated. I love the Tone it Up videos!
