TOO FACED BETTER THAN SEX MASCARA REVIEW

Friday, March 28, 2014

Today, I wanted to review this mascara.. Mine is a travel size I purchased in a package with other Too Faced products that I wanted to try out.

I purchased mine at Ulta, full size is $23.00 on the Too Faced site.

I didn't think I was going to love this mascara as much as I do.. Well, there goes the review... I love it.

Oh Too Faced, that's a pretty big claim there..! I don't know about their claim in the actual name of the mascara, but this is really a great mascara. I need to replace my Jordana mascara that I reviewed here, so this is what I have been using.

Too Faced claims: Take home our Better Than Sex mascara and all your desires for lush, incredibly intense lashes will be fulfilled. One application of our collagen-fueled formula and touch of our specially shaped brush will leave you begging for more. One coat and lashes are full, defined and stretched to unbelievable lengths. Two coats and they’re reaching unbelievable heights of drama. Three coats and you’ll believe in magic.

Who else has hooded eyes? I find it so hard to showcase an eyeshadow look and the way a mascara defines my lashes because of my hooded eyes.. Anyone else have this problem?

I don't know if I would purchase a full size of this mascara, as there are less expensive brands I love like the Jordana. If I ever get through my collection of unopened mascaras and am in the mood for a higher end mascara, this is one I would consider.

Who else has a collection of unopened mascaras? If you already own this, let me know in the comments section if you love or hate it?

THANKFUL THURSDAY 3.27.14

Thursday, March 27, 2014

Check out the ladies who started this link up, and see what they are thankful for!

Oh Thankful Thursday, I am thankful for you.. I look back at my days and see how blessed I really am, even on the days where things may not go right.

I am thankful for my Winter gear, boy is it cold in Boston!

I am thankful for tostones, no need for an explanation.

I am thankful for donated tickets to the circus..! I didn't even know the circus was in town when I got an email from a music center I go to saying they had tickets for first come first serve. Of course I quickly replied! We took Emily out to see the circus and her face throughout the whole show was priceless. At the end of the night she told is it was the best night..!

Wednesday night selfie on the train ride back to Wellington was in order!

While we were having fun at the Circus last night, others were going through a terrible moment.. I am thankful for service men and women everywhere who expose themselves to protect others.. The military included, firefighters, police officers, even teachers. Tragedy struck Boston yesterday & as I drove in to work this AM and saw the building my heart broke for the families who have to rebuild and for those who lost their lives and their families who have to continue living. My thoughts and prayers are with them xo.

What are you thankful for!? Let me know in the comments section. Have a blessed Thursday!

I have heard great things of Stila as a brand, this is my first product from the brand and I am loving it. Perfect for Spring!
Stila Lip Glaze in Pink Dragon Fruit

I purchased a full size of this a few weeks ago, before my trip to Puerto Rico, and loved it. Now I have the travel size, and am planning on leaving it for when I travel again. I am a fan of bb creams for my face, instead of foundations-when I heard bb cream for your body, I was all ears..  You have to smell this product!
Jergens BB Body Skin Cream in Light

I have yet to try this, but am looking forward to using a different shampoo.

Spring is here, but I still have dry Winter damaged lips, I'm hoping this will help me!

I am thankful for working away from the city but in the city.

Lastly, I am thankful for the first day of Spring. It is rainy and cloudy in Boston, but the birds are chirping and Spring is coming (Insert bird's chirping here).

MARY KAY EXTRA EMOLLIENT NIGHT CREAM REVIEW

Wednesday, March 19, 2014

If you read my blog often, you would have probably read about my dry skin. I suffer (yes, SUFFER because it is really a problem, for me anyway) from dry skin year round. The dry skin gets worst in the Winter.

I have found a few things that have worked for my body but I am always on the hunt for products that will help the dryness on my face.

A little while ago I received a few items from Ingrid, a Mary Kay Sales Director to try, see more about that here . I liked what I got so much I purchased a few other things myself. One of the products was a night cream. At the time I already had a night cream and just pushed it off to the side.

Recently, I pulled it out after organizing my products. Boy am I impressed.

The full size product is 2.1 and is $14, purchase the full size here

I believe this is either a small sample or travel size product. It is the most silky and moisturizing night cream I have used to date. Now, I have raved about the Josie Maran Argan oil a bit, but I'm trying to use up some of the products I already own.

Mary Kay claims that this product is for "very dry skin". Yes, that's me! The site also claims that this product:
Helps maintain the natural moisture of the skin and replenishes hydration in very dry areas.

  • Excellent for dry patches, especially on hands, elbows and feet.
  • Suitable for all skin types.
  • Clinically tested for skin irritancy and allergy.
  • Non-comedogenic (will not clog pores).
  • Hypoallergenic.

I have been applying this at night after I wash my face and at first it feels greasy to the touch but it just needs a minute or two to sink into my skin. Honestly, I don't mind the greasy/oily feeling if it is going to moisturize my dry skin.

I feel this preps my skin for the morning time. I have really been enjoying this product.

*I was not asked to write this review nor did I receive this product from Ingrid. However if you'd like to purchase this or something else from Mary Kay, I recommend her as she allowed me to host the giveaway a few months ago.
Contact Ingrid Hernandez for more information on this or other Mary Kay products:

LIFE UPDATE-School, Vacation, Wedding and YouTube?

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

Today, there is no review or beauty post. I'll call this a life update, sort of.

I have been studying like crazy, and the work we are getting has become harder to keep up with. If all goes well, I will be ready for student teaching soon. I still have tons of observation hours to cover, but with a full time job-that is hard to complete. I am also scheduling my next MTEL exams tonight. I don't do well with times tests, or tests I know are super important to pass the first time, so clearly I'm not looking forward to these.

As I'm sure you saw, we went to Puerto Rico in February, it was so much fun. Jose loved it and is looking forward to visiting again. We are planning a trip to Florida, we want to take Emily to Disney and I am looking forward to seeing my god daughter Arianna.

I haven't done a wedding update in a while. We just got out of track with my school work and the vacation, who else feels that they need a vacation from their vacation. Man, it's hard getting back into the swing of things. After many talks on the wedding and what we want, I am back to zero. I thought I knew what I wanted as far as the wedding "party" goes.. But I don't anymore:
-Big or small wedding
-Spring or Fall
-Colors!!??
-Outdoor or indoor
-Ball gown or smaller dress
The questions go on and on.. Anyone else go through this..? Ever felt like you knew exactly what you wanted and have things somewhat planned in your head and then go back to zero? So weird..

Let me know in the comments below if you've been through something like that. Maybe not with wedding planning but with anything else in life. Let me know I'm not crazy.

Hope you're having a fabulous Tuesday!
