SKIN CARE- #2014 Blogger Challenge

When I thought about my skin care routine and writing a post on it, I panicked a little bit because I've never really had a strict routine. However, as of lately I have been using the same products and I have been content with all of them. I am a believer in less is more & luckily I don't need too much.

My skin type: My only issue is that I'm dry, and super dry in the Winter. I don't have breakouts nor acne etc. So my skin care routine is quite basic. I do switch the moisturizers I use between Summer and Winter because of the extra dryness.

In the Summer I am fine with the Clean & Clear moisturizer, below you'll see what I use for moisturizers in the winter months. The Cetaphil I use every day after I remove my makeup and in the mornings. The Toner is something I have recently started using, it smells like alcohol but feels great on the skin & removes extra junk.

Recently, I was sent these sample products to try, and I have been loving them. They are great for the dryness that the colder months bring. I've been switching back and forth between the Mary Kay products and the Cetaphil & Clean & Clear.

For moisturizing in the Winter:

I don't know how I got through the Winter without the Josie Maran 100% Argan Oil..! It is perfect for my skin, it doesn't leave me feeling oily, my skin just soaks it all in and leaves my skin looking and feeling great. I have always used the Ponds dry Skin dream, will never stop using it.. It smells great and it works.

For an eye cream I was using a Mary Kay product I purchased over the summer but it's an emptie so I started to use the Origins Eye cream. It claims to depuff and brighten. I don't have puffy under eyes so I wouldn't be able to say if it's working, but it is moisturizing.

What are you using for skin care? Has it been working for you? Let me know in the comments section below.

  1. My #1 issue too is dryness! If you like Cetaphil, next time you are at Target or Ulta, pick up CeraVe! I use the AM and PM lotions and I looove them. I've also heard great things about the cleanser but I've never tried it. My other saving grace with my dry skin is my Clarisonic. It changed my skin 100%!

  2. I love the cetaphil cleansers! I have combination oily skin but it gets dry I the winter so I have to change up my products!!
I found your blog from ellesees, and I really like it! I'm going to follow you :)

  3. I have the opposite skin type! I'm oily in the summer and then oily to combo in the winter-- I have been a bit more dry than usual this year because it has been SO cold. I just started using my clarisonic again and I use the cetaphil cleanser with it because it's so gentle!

  4. I don't have a strict skin care routine quite yet, but I'm definitely working on it. I have the opposite skin type as you, I'm oily. It's a pain in the butt! I really want to try the Origins eye cream I hear great things!

  5. I love Cetaphil too. I really need to get my hands on that Josie Maran Argan oil! Thanks for sharing!

  6. I've seen quite a few skincare posts that use Mary Kay too. I should really look into it. Personally, I use Clean & Clear every morning.

If you want a natural scrub then all you have to do is add white sugar smidgeons to your beloved body wash.
