10 Beauty Mistakes I Used to Make

Tuesday, January 21, 2014

I was tagged by the fabulous Kallie, to share 10 Beauty Mistakes I Used to Make in the past. She blogs at But, first Coffee, read about her 10 mistakes here, and let her know I sent you.

Here we go, 10 beauty mistakes I used to make:

1. Not use a primer

I have come to see after many great reviews on primers that I needed one all along. I always hated the thought of the extra step, but now that I use a primer I am thankful that is no longer a mistake I am making.

2. Not use an oil
My skin is really dry and in the Winter time it gets worst. I have tried so many different moisturizers, all to no luck. I finally went for it and purchased the Josie Maran 100% Argan Oil and boy was I making a huge mistake not using this before. I can't speak for all oils, as I have only tried this one, but this stuff is amazing. I use it for everything, especially for my face. Works like magic. I shared a picture of my oil on Instagram and had a few others say they also loved, see that here.

3. Not use a hair mask

I never used any type of hair mask or deep conditioners. I am glad I do now because they have made a huge difference with my hair.

4. Not use a fast drying top coat
Can't even explain how many times did I mess up manicures because I had something to do after painting my nails or was just too impatient to wait. I recently started to use a fast drying top coat and it has made such a difference, this is a must in my new at home manicure routine. Check out the new fast drying top coat I purchased here

5. Not try purple toned lip products
I love my neutrals, and I limited my lip product purchases to nudes or light pinks. This past year I started to look beyond the nudes and have been pleasantly surprised. They are still light and/or sheer, but still have a bit of purple and I love the way it looks.

6. Not have a steady skin care routine
I am guilty of going to bed with my makeup on, I never wear heavy makeup so it has never been a huge issue for me, still-not good. I recently after reviewing a skin care line for Heather, from Enummi see that here, I started to really cover all corners.

7. Not fill in my eyebrows
Boy, what a difference does this make. That is all.

8. Not go to sleep at a decent hour
I don't mean not go to bed, I have always been sort of an early bird throughout the week so is be in bed early, but wouldn't go to sleep for a few hours later. Which mean I would get every extra possible second of sleep in the morning. We all need out beauty sleep.

9. Not drink enough water throughout the day.. I'm not a health professional, so I'll spare you a lecture on why water helps with beauty amongst other things.. I'm just glad I drink a minimum of 8 cups of water a day now.

10. Not use a heat protectant

I'm guilty if not always using a protector when hear styling my hair.. Never again.. I now try to do as much as I could to protect my hair, and I go as far as not heat styling as often as I used to.

Most of these are things I wasn't doing, that I look back on now and think "Why didn't I do that"?
