December. Really? I know, everyone always rambles about how they can't believe it is a new month. Well, I really can't! Where has the time gone? I remember running around looking for perfect gifts last year, here I am again.

-I am doing something different this year, I am really trying to slow it down and actually celebrating Christmas with my family. We all get so into the gift buying and making sure we have enough or the right gift for certain people. I feel like we can get lost in a sea of crazy shoppers and crazy traffic. Yesterday I took some time to find a few specific things I wanted to purchase for certain people. I love shopping in the day time because there are less people and less traffic jams. My goal is to finish up with my shopping this week so I have the rest of the month to just relax and enjoy the festivities.

I was tempted to go out in Emily's Santa headband, but I opted for my beanie haha..! & that's a no makeup face!

-Where can I find an ugly Christmas sweater? I'm trying to put together a get together and can't find ugly sweaters anywhere! They're all so pretty! I found an ugly shirt for Jose, so that will have to do for him. I'm lucky I was able to get him on board with the idea ;) .

-I took my niece to school this morning.. It was the nicest morning I've had this week (granted it is only Tuesday) ha!

She was so excited to see me, and was I ever so excited to see her. She told me about what they were doing at school and how her mom was doing crafts with her for Christmas. She's such a sweet girl. I was happy to be able to wake up early (day off) and spend a little bit of time with her.

-Don't get me wrong, I love gift giving and wrapping up presents and having something to give everyone I see during Christmas, but let's really spend time with our loved ones. Let's cherish those moments. I saw a post from Michelle- a music teacher in South Boston, Ma (find her website here, if you visit her let her know Veronica sent you) the other day.. She posted on her FB:

So true, & this goes even if you don't have children.. The best gift you can give anyone is time, your time.

I think that's all for my rambling.. This post was all about inner beauty + a small ootd. Let me know if you know where I can purchase ugly Christmas sweaters!

  1. Such a good post, Vero! I completely agree with you, it's so sad how most of us get caught up in the shopping and such that we tend to not celebrate the holiday, and the reason behind it.

Thanks for sharing, your niece is adorable!!

    xoxo, Lily

  2. I love your beanie! So cute and so very appropriate for this month hehe. Thanks for sharing :)

  3. I agree definitely! It's much more meaningful to spend quality time with the ones you love instead of focusing on the materialistic aspect of the season. :)
