BE MERRY WITH MY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Monday, December 16, 2013

With Christmas around the corner all you hear is "Happy Holidays". At the mall, in the work place, out walking-everyone is in the HOLIDAY spirit. People are scared to say Merry Christmas in case you don't celebrate it.

Now, my post is not meant to make fun of religion or people who celebrate different holidays than myself.. However, please take my "Merry Christmas" & be happy with it.

Working in customer service for many years and then as a teacher for several other years, accostumed me to saying Happy Holidays because it was the proper thing to say.

Well, now I'm completely grown and I just don't care. Merry Christmas everyone, & if you celebrate Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, take my Merry Christmas as a Happy (insert here whatever holiday you celebrate).

If someone says Happy Hanukkah to me, I'll gladly accept it, & if someone says Happy Kwanzaa, I'll gladly accept that as well.

Doesn't matter what you celebrate, let's all be cheery and kind to one another.

At the restaurant the other day, an elderly woman was so sweet and we spoke the whole time we were there. When she was about to leave she said Happy Holidays and was surprised when I replied Merry Christmas.. In return she said "Oh thank goodness, Merry Christmas to you too". Almost as if she was scared to wish me a Merry Christmas.

With the New Year approaching I challenge all of you to take the Happy Holidays to your level.

I'll finish this post on a super happy note with some pictures from our Christmas Ugly Sweater party & a
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa... Hope you all have a blessed whatever you celebrate!

  1. I am blessed to work for a Christian organization where we can say Merry Christmas! We do have a few Jewish members and I try to remember to say Happy Hanukkah. I think it's a shame that we have become so sensitive to these issues that saying 'Merry Christmas' is thought of as inconsiderate. Merry Christmas to you my dear!

  2. Veronica it's been so long since I stopped by! I hope you are well and congrats on the engagement! I agree, it should be about being cheery toward each other. I'm a Christian, Baptist to be precise. It's a beautiful time of year to be kind toward each other. I can't help but love this holiday, especially since my birthday is actually on Christmas Day! May you have a Merry Christmas! Check out my latest post if you get a minute.

  3. Merry Christmas! I think people get so offended so easily these days, it's kind of sad. But like you, I'll take whatever they say to me and say it back. It's just easier and sometimes that makes them happy. :)
