What comes to mind when you hear New Year's Eve and nails? Glitter comes to my mind, but I wanted to do something different for my New Year's Eve nails.

I went to Ulta yesterday and found a few gems (look out for that haul).. I found a Maybelline Color Show Holographic polish in Lavender Lustre for $1.99! Couldn't pass it up and thought it would be great for a shiny effect on the nails without the glitter.

Here's what I used:

Nail Hardener (not sold in the states)- Use Nail Envy
Maybelline Color Show Holographic polish in Lavender Lustre
Poshe Top Coat

I finished off the mani with my Essie Cuticle Oil of course. The Poshe top coat is a new one I am trying, first impression was fantastic, it dried my nails super fast and it is very shiny.

What will you be wearing this New Year's Eve? Let me know in the comments section below!

That's it? It's over? Woah did that go fast! I think Christmas came and went so fast for me because Thanksgiving fell so late in the month of November as far as number date is concerned. Anyway, as always I had a wonderful Christmas and feel so very blessed.

It's been a week since my last post, thanks for coming back to read some more :) . I sure hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful time, I definitely took several days off from school and blogging to enjoy my family.

So, a bit of a background on what usually goes on during Christmas time. My fiancé and I are the type that can't really wait for Christmas to open our gifts, so we exchanged a few early gifts. More like he tore into his so I opened mine early as revenge!

I usually shop online with my Ebates account, start shopping through Ebates here. So when packages come, if I don't get to them first Jose will open them. This is last year's packages:

This year I was home all month so I got to all of my packages first :) . He ended up opening a wrapped gift either way.

I did a post a few weeks ago on what to get for the man in your life, see that here. He helped me with the ideas, I took a gift from his list. Here he is opening his gift from me, a Kenneth Cole watch.

Since he opened my gift to him early I thought it would be fair for me to open mine early as well..!

I posted this picture on my Instagram..! Here she is:

Love it, he later gifted me the wallet to go with it that is also a wristlet and clutch, with goodies inside!

We mostly celebrate Christmas Eve, that's when we open our gifts. Christmas Day we usually hang out at home.

Here's my outfit for Christmas Eve, I thought I'd post it because it could be inspiration for a New Year's Eve look.

Dress: Aeropostale
Tights: Target
Shoes: Bakers
Nails: Wet & Wild in Red a Good Book

Make up held up nicely 'til the end of the night ;)

What did you do on Christmas? When do you open presents? Let me know in the comments section below!

Yay! Christmas is tomorrow! Well, it's Wednesday, but tradition in my family means celebrating Christmas Eve!

This past weekend after a few minor scratches to the fiancé, I decided it was time to give my nails a trim, & thought I'd record the process of my at home manicure.

I like to pamper myself with a professional mani every once in a while, but in the Winter time I usually take care of it myself. I am not a professional by any means, nor am I telling you how to give yourself a mani. Just sharing what I do in case it is of interest to you.

My tools:
Brands have rubbed off, bought at Sally's Beauty Supply.

I get really dry cuticles, the Winter makes them worst, so I use the cuticle oil at the beginning and end of my manicure. I have been using the Essie Cuticle oil and it is wonderful, it leaves the cuticles and soft and hydrated.
Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil
Cut and filed squared.
After I cut, file and use the cuticle oil I apply a coat of this nail hardener, this product isn't sold in the states, but I have heard Nail Envy is quite good. I can't keep my nails too long because of my job, but I do like having them fairly long and hard, this is a great product.

Next, I apply my desired polish, over the weekend I wore Essie's Eternal Optimist.

Lastly, I apply a coat of a top coat and when the nails dry I reapply the cuticle oil and let it sit for a little bit. I ran out of my usual Essie all in one polish, so I used N.Y.C top coat as a back up.

If you follow me on Instagram you would know, I've been wearing glitters, textured polishes along with accent nails. I wanted to keep them neutral for a few days before doing my Christmas nails (I will post on Instagram).

What nail products do you use on a regular basis? Let me know in the comments section below what you use for a nail hardener.

Well, snow has definitely made an appearance in Boston. I am not one to complain about the cold or the snow as I don't like to complain about the heat in the Summer... Although if you know me a little bit, you'd know I prefer Fall & Spring for the cooler more comfortable weather.

It was an on the go kind of day, I went out for a breakfast date with my niece, Gabriella. I posted her picture on my Instagram, here are a few more.

I also went out and made my last Christmas purchase.. I am way behind. I usually have all of my gifts bought and wrapped. I also had to do a post office run to send my

Boots: Famous Footwear
Coat: Nortface
Hat: Northface

Happy Thursday!!

I recently purchased a few things from Ulta, (see everything I got here), one of those products was the NYX Pore Filler. I wanted to post a quick review after testing it every day and give some of my thoughts on the product.

A little background on my skin type: I have dry skin, and it gets worst in the Winter time. I moisturize constantly and double up before applying any type of BB cream or foundation.

What the product claims to do: "Magical agent that minimizes the look of pores to create a smooth, porcelain doll-like finish to your face. Use as a base, wear it alone, or over makeup" -NYX Pore Filler container.

Price: The regular price at is $12.99, when I purchased it I got it half off. You can find this product here, they are currently still having that half off sale.

Overall thoughts: I like this product, and I am happy I ended up going for it. I don't have a huge probelm with pores, however, they are usually noticeable without a product like this one. This filler definitely has a smooth consistency and leaves the area where it is applied with a satin feel, giving the skin a smooth and even base.

Would I repurchase? Yes, I most likely will repurchase, however not before I try other brands. I really want to get a good feel of other brands that claim to help with the look of pores on the skin.

Have you tried this product? Let me know your thoughts on it down below in the comments section.

Mail time is the best time. I came home yesterday to several goodies, if you follow me on Instagram you would have seen my picture...
One of the most exciting packages always is the pink one.

*Ipsy affiliate link included in this blog post.

If you don't know what Ipsy is, it is a $10 beauty monthly subscription box, where you get beauty products to try including a makeup bag. Most of the time the products are from brands I have yet to try or have tried very little of. In my opinion it is a great deal because you can take a quiz on the Ipsy site so that the products you receive are to your liking. I haven't had a bag where I thought I was ripped off.

This month's bag is themed CELEBRATION, which I thought was very appropriate with the Holiday season, and the makeup bag is screaming New Years to me.

If you would like to join Ipsy, use my link here and I will get Ipsy points, let me know if you do use the link so I could thank you!

On to what I got in this month's bag:

Here's a closer look:

Ardell Natural Lashes #120

Nickak New York Polish

Be a Bombshell Cosmetics The One Stick in Girl Crush

POP Beauty Eye Shadow Trio in SMOKIN' HOT

NYX Lisptick in Iced Honey

Overall, I like all of the products from this month's Ipsy bag, the Lip Stick I will probably not get too much use out of, but I am definitely looking forward to playing with everything.
