Birthday Haul-Sweater Weather

Thursday, October 31, 2013

I have a post on my Weekend Whereabouts in which I wrote about my birthday...  It was a wonderful birthday weekend, I spent it with my God daughter who turned one on the same day as me! Pretty awesome!

So, I wanted to share my birthdays gifts.. I am in no way bragging about what I got, I enjoy reading and watching hauls, so I figured this would be something you would enjoy. I was fortunate enough to receive a few things from my family. Some of the gifts I got a few weeks before my birthday. They were early gifts because we were out shopping, saw them and didn't want to pass them up.

Enzo Angiolini Riding boot-Nordstrom
You have seen my boots in some #ootd posts here and on my instagram. They are fantastic! So comfortable and stylish! It was so hard choosing a pair, but these won me over with the zipper detail on the back even though they open on the sides.

Classic Toms in Red & Black-Nordstrom
My Toms have also been on a few #ootd pictures on a few posts and on my instagram. Another comfortable shoe, they go great with my skinny jeans when on the go. Very cute!

Hunter Fleece Welly Socks-Nordstrom

Hunter boots purchased two years ago, Hunter Fleece socks go inside.
The Hunter boots I have had since I started to work as a nanny, its a nanny essential for me, any type of weather proof, now I have socks to keep me warmer!

Pandora charm, it says Sweet Sister!
Adding my Sweet sister charm, putting that on my bracelet ASAP! :)

Poof Excellence-Marshalls

All of the sweaters (and one shirt) are a size small and are sort of a high low style with the back being a little longer than the front. Great to pair with leggins and skinny's.

Thank you for reading this far... I am very happy with my gifts, and so happy to have this haul up so I could take the tags out and start using them! Hope everyone has a fabulous Thursday! Dont forget to follow me on GFC, Google+ & Bloglovin', links are on the home page of my blog!

Empties... Products I've used up!

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

I was watching YouTube videos while taking the pictures for this blog post, and saw Kallie's video on her empties.. I quickly went to her blog to read her post and I completely agree with her. If you haven't seen or read her blog post, you can read it here let her know I sent you!

Who saves their trash? I do! Here you will see a few products that I have used up, and if I liked them or not. You'll rarely see makeup products because it is so hard for me to go through it. Let me know what you think about this type of blog post. Is this something you would enjoy reading?

On to the trash..!

Can you tell I love lotions?

Cover Girl Lash Blast & L'oreal Paris Double Extend Mascara

I enjoyed both of these mascaras, I haven't found one that I will always buy (Cover Girl Clump Crusher & Too Faced are in a close race). I tend to try a new mascara whenever I run out. I have a few new mascaras I am waiting to try out. I would eventually repurchase the Cover Girl Lash Blast, I will most likely not repurchase the L'oreal mascara. I would rather not have to do two steps for my mascara.

Dolce & Gabbana light blue

This is one of my favorites! I will definitely repurchase, I do have two full size bottles in my collection. I love having a purse size for on the go and/or for traveling. I pull this out when the Fall starts, and wear it through the Winter! LOVE!

Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer, Juicy Couture Body Sorbet,
Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer & Victoria's Secret Bombshell body lotion

I have very dry skin, so I am constantly moisturizing. I used up the Jergens Natural Glow over the summer, I will definitely repurchase next summer for a subtle body glow.
I have already repurchased the Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturizer, I keep it in my bag for on the go, it is very moisturizing and it smells amazing.
The Juicy Couture and Victoria's Secret lotions I loved! I would repurchase but only after I use other scented lotions I have in my collection. I only use these liberally, I feel the alcohol can be drying for my skin.

L'oreal Paris Damage-Erasing Balm

This stuff smells amazing! I ended up using this as a daily conditioner! I saw great reviews on this product and was expecting a miracle! I don't think this product was that beneficial for my hair, but I did enjoy using it. I would repurchase but I do want to try other hair treatments and see if I would like anything else. Do you know of any hair masks that have magic in it? ;)

What products have you used up? Do you have a blog post on your empties? If so let me know in the comments section below so I could head over and read. Dont forget to read Kallie's blog and watch her video on her empties!

Weekend whereabouts 10-25

Monday, October 28, 2013

Hi! I wanted to wait to post about my weekend whereabouts because I really wanted to do a Makeup Monday... Did you read it? You can here, it is about my current quick, "got to go" makeup products. Let me know what you are using in the comments section.

So, on to the weekend.. It was my birthday weekend, but it was also my God daughter's 1st birthday. Yes! She was born on the same day as me, a year ago. I feel completely blessed to have her in my life and to have been chosen by my brother and my sister in law to be her God mother. So clearly, my birthday was sort of pushed aside in honor of Arianna's 1st birthday mini celebration :)

Here is my #ootd for Saturday. I was running errands and wanted to keep it casual and comfortable.

-Sweater and light wash jeans from Old Navy
-Boots from Nordstrom
Enzo Angiolini Riding boots
-American Eagle watch
-Handmade bracelet (gift)

I am not one to post pictures of my food, however, this I had to post. We went out for breakfast on Sunday for my birthday and we went to our "go to" place, Donna's

My birthday makeup was somewhat my usual routine, except a little more color on the eyes!
I was so busy having a good time with my God daughter at her celebration I forgot to take a picture .
-Garnier BB Cream in Light
-Covergirl & Olay concealer
-Mac Studio Fix

From the bhcosmetics 88 Color Palette Neutral eye shadow:
the top purple on the lid with the bottom color on the crease with Faint from the Naked Basics to blend, W.O.S all over the lid and Venus on the brow bone

Wanted to share a few pictures I put together and posted on my FB page (like my Fb here). Arianna and I got to hang out this weekend, a great way to celebrate my birthday. Isn't she a doll!?

What did you do over the weekend?

Quick, "got to go" makeup..!

Yesterday was my birthday and coincidently the family I work for went on vacation for the week, hence me being here blogging and not working. The bf has the day off too and we decided to go to breakfast..

I wanted to share my quick, "got to go" makeup for when I've just got to go but want to look presentable in public.

-Smashbox Camera Ready BB cream in light
-Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless eye concealer in light
-NYC loose face powder in translucent
-COVER GIRL Clump Crusher in Very Black
-Tarte eyelash curler
-Wet n Wild Juicy lip balm in Strawberry

I've been using an eyeshadow for my eyebrows, it's the little pot in the picture. I don't know the name of it but it's from Sally's Beauty Supply.

This is my #fotd.. What are you wearing on this Makeup Monday? Let me know in the comments section.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!

#FOTD & Smashbox BB Cream Review

Friday, October 25, 2013

If you read my blog you will know that I love BB creams as I do not like the feeling of most foundations on my face. BB creams even out my skin tone and I am content with the way it looks, especially that my freckles always show.

I've been using the Smashbox Camera ready BB cream in light for two weeks on and off.

My first impression was that I liked that it isn't a runny consistency.. It is fairly thick but easy to blend in. I have applied with both my fingers and brushes. I feel that it clings to my dry patches even when I've used moisturizer. I am going to try a different moisturizer when I use this an I will let you all know what I think!

-Smashbox BB Cream in light

-Maybelline instant age rewind concealer in light pale

-Victoria Jackson brow pencil

-Pür mineral blush in candlelit pink

-Jordana liquid eyeliner pencil in black

-Rimmel SCANDALEYES liner in nude

-Urban Decay eyeshadow duo in Sin/Mushroom

-Benefit they're Real! Mascara (sample size)

-Tarte eyelash curler

-Revlon Shine in Honey Bare

Have you tried any if these products?? What did you think? Any other BB Cream recommendations? What's on your face today? Let me know in the comments section!

*Picture searched for on google.

I was waiting for the right time to do this TAG, I seen it going around the blogging world and thought to myself "I really do love Fall, I NEED to do this"! I can't go an hour without applying a lip balm during the fall, my lips are very dry as is, when the colder months hit I need to be on top of hydrating them! A lipstick that works well for me in the Fall is the Revlon Lip butter-I love Pink Truffle, but make sure to hydrate before applying.

If I have to pick just one for the Fall, it would be Essie in Merino Cool.

I am a Dunkin Donuts girl. I tried Starbucks hot coffee once and didn't like it.

Bath & Body works Sweater Weather! Ran out, need a new one!

5. Favorite scarf or accessory?
Scarves are a must! My favorite right now is this one (from Target)...

Does the Adams Family count!?? HAHA!

8. Favorite candy to eat on Halloween?
OMG! Candy Corn! I am obsessed & eat way too many!

Wednesday Wishlist

Happy Wednesday!!

On this week's Wednesday Wishlist: NAIL POLISH!

I have seen some great polish colors on instagram and twitter that I must try out for myself!

Some of my current wants are:

- Sinfulcolors in Charmed

- Sally Hansen Snow Globe

- Zoya Aurora

- Essie Fall line
YES, the whole line :)

-Formula X for Sephora
Any color please <3

If you follow me on instagram and twitter you would already know what my current #notd is... Zoya in Neve, got it in my Ipsy bag. It is a dark shiny Navy blue throughout, I applied two coats for an opaque look.

Here are some of the colors I have been wearing and will continue to wear this Fall Season!

Essie in merino cool
Essie in eternal optimist

Revlon Colorstay in Indigo Night
Revlon Colorstay in Bold Sangria

Zoya in Sailor
Zoya in Neve

Sailor and Neve look the same here but Neve has a shinier effect.

I am not one to go by trends or restrict myself to only wearing a certain color because of the season... These are just some of the colors I am naturally drawn to right now.

What have you been wearing this Fall Season? Which will you use? Do you follow trends? I am curious to know! :) Thanks for reading, let me know what you think in the comments section below!

October by you

The art of beauty bag finally made its way to my home! What a great treat to come home to.

For those of you who don't know, Ipsy is a monthly subscription bag. For $10 a month you get a makeup bag filled with beauty goodies. The bag exceeds the $10 you are paying for it. It's a great way of trying out new products without paying the high price tag. Most of the products I have received have been full size.

Use my referral link to start getting your Ipsy bag every month!
*Referral link will award me ipsy points.

Let's get right into it.. Here is what I got this month.

The actual makeup bag seems a bit Valentine's day themed.. Would have loved to see a Halloween/Fall themed bag, still pretty!

Inside the bag:

-Zoya Professional Laquer in Neve
-Big sexy hair blow dry volumizing gel
-Wet n Wild Fergie eyeshadow quad in Desert Festival

Out of the bag:

-Costal Scents medium shadow brush
-LA Fresh oil-free face cleanser wipes

Overall, I am very pleased with my bag this month, just the Zoya polish is $8. Want to get some great products to try for just $10 a month? Be sure to sign up to start getting your own bag. Let me know in the comments section below if you will start getting a bag. If you already get a bag, did you like yours this month??

Thank you for reading my blog, don't forget to follow on GFC, Google+, instagram and twitter! :)

MOOD Monday-Weekend whereabouts 10-18

Sunday, October 20, 2013

Monday always seems to get here so quickly! Especially after a long weekend. Luckily, I have a job that I love and enjoy very much, & Monday's for me are not that dreadful :)

I had a very busy weekend, (as usual)... We were busy with Emily's ballet and tap classes, setting up her new bedroom, getting my new office set up and managed to spend some QT with my oldest niece. I also started a new course SPE/300, so I was of course busy with homework and then trying to keep up with blogging.

I enjoy everything I do, but I am a very busy person. When I decided to start blogging I knew it would be something to add to my things to do... However, this is fun for me and I enjoy putting some time aside just for this. Even if it means staying up later than I would like. I am definitely enjoying this, and with homework being such a bore, I look forward to finishing it up so I could BLOG!

So, this weekend in pictures...

Friday, I had a dentist appointment that was long overdue, but dreadful! Two root canals for me! YIKES! No pictures necessary! ;) After my very scary appointment (I dislike having to go to the dentist very much!) I got to do something fun! We went to Rhode Island to the Roger Williams Zoo for the Jack-o-lantern Spectacular! We have gone three years now, and this might be the last time we go. The trip is a long one for us coming from Boston, however, it has been worth the drive until this year. I think people are becoming more aware of this event and it has gotten an overwhelming amount of visitors per day. It was so crowded. Anywho... Here are a few pictures of the Jack-o-Lantern's we spotted :)

Saturday, Emily has her ballet and tap classes! This is so much fun for her and for us too! WE love to see her participating in something she enjoys. After some coffee the madness began. We set up her new bigger and better bedroom! Here are some before and after pictures! That handsome man is who I call my boo!

As soon as we finished up Emily's room I began to set up my office space, I posted a picture on Instagram... I am very happy with the way everything is coming out. I really enjoy having a place to sit to complete homework assignments and of course do some blogging. My new office/beauty room is not complete yet, but with work, school and a family, I have to take things day by day. I will update when it is complete. Although I don't think it will ever be complete, because even when it is set up the way I want it to be I will end up moving it around when I'm bored ;)

This was my happy face... ;)

Sunday I got up early to work on some homework and then went out for some breakfast. It has kind of become a Sunday thing. After breakfast I was on the hunt for a shoe storage/organizer. Found one, brought it home only to find it was a complete mess. Back to the store it goes today. Still in the market for an organizer. My oldest niece came over to play, it's always nice to spend some time with her and she gets along great with Emily.

Some of my shoes without a home...

What did you do this weekend?? I would love to know, let me know on the comments section below? Also, don't forget to follow this blog on GFC! :)
